The distillery of Glen Ord is now the only one left on the black isle, a peninsula in Ross-Shire. Their 14-year-old Singleton is triple-matured in a five cask process and tastes like something sent from the heavens. It’s passed between old sherry and bourbon casks to give it a truly unique palate, with notes of plum, liquorice and pineapple. Its finish is also long and full, like the cues of those lining up to buy it.
Flavour Profile: Nose
Rose, magnolia & primrose eagerly greet the nose. Thereafter the sweetness grows, exuding honey, red apple & dark fruit.
Flavour Profile: Palate
Gently mouth-coating & suave, with plum, pineapple & liquorice notes. A deliberate burnt character emerges set against a rich raisin fruit bread.
Flavour Profile: Finish
An enduring warmth prevails in this long finish. Full of fruit preceding a smoky & then cleansing dryness.
