Located in the southern tip of the Isle Of Islay, Lagavulin distillery has been producing supreme malts since 1816. It is one of nine producers on the island, and their blends are renowned for their rich, aromatic depth. This prestigious 16-year-old Distillers Edition is one of their most celebrated tipples that goes through an additional maturing process. After leaving its traditional oak barrels, the whisky is then placed into old Pedro Ximenez sherry barrels to add more smokey notes and overall complexity.
Flavour Profile: Nose
Luring & enticing, the nose tells the story of Christmas night in a house by the beach. Sea salt, rich fruit cake, dates & amaretto.
Flavour Profile: Palate
Effortlessly stately, the palate delivers a well trained peaty jab, softened by velvety ripe raspberries, dark chocolate & candied orange peel.
Flavour Profile: Finish
Sea salt lingers on the finish. Slightly longish finish with the flavours flickering around.
