Appearing in Diageo’s Special Releases series fourteen times in a row is a sign of remarkable and consistent quality, which is exactly what highland distillery Brora have managed over the years. Flexing their muscle as kings of aged single malts, these rare bottles are usually only available for private collectors who've paid a hefty sum to have a few put to one side. It has quite a sweet palate, with a touch of honey and smoke, and is pleasantly old fashioned in its overall finish. Bliss in a bottle.
Flavour Profile: Nose
At first dirty , earthy, smoky, the nose is elevated by firm lime and kiwi, wax, white pepper and sweet nuts.
Flavour Profile: Palate
Rich and robust with full ripe fruit notes. There are traces of honeycomb, kiwi again and a backdrop of signature smoke.
Flavour Profile: Finish
The finish does not disappoint. Long, rounded and syrupy with significant fruit overtones.
