With a history that goes back to 1869, Cragganmore is one of the famed distilleries in Speyside, the most active whiskey producing regions in Scotland. This 12-year-old Distillers Edition was bottled in 2017, after being finished in Port pipes that provide a fruity, blackberry palate with an oaky, leather finish for a truly unique taste.
Flavour Profile: Nose
A metered greeting of warmth, gentle traces of beeswax & mandarin guides the palate to a more drying & cedar infused experience. Later, a hint of marzipan & a handful of freshly picked herbs.
Flavour Profile: Palate
Compellingly intense, the palate is smooth & sugary, with a mid palate fondant. A dryness follows into an intriguing intermingling of malt & oak.
Flavour Profile: Finish
The finish is long, warming & cleansing moving through a charred wood fire with indications of sweet spices & burnt fig.
