When we think of Scotch it’s easy to get wrapped up in Highland and Island whiskies, but the Lowlands shouldn’t be forgotten. Glenkinchie is one of the region’s most celebrated distilleries in East Lothian, and their 12-Year-Old bottle is a perfect introduction. It’s won multiple awards from 2014 to 2016, including Best Lowland Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards. It’s very light in its characteristics, with grassy elements that are so often associated with southern Scottish whisky - perfect for a warm evening aperitif with a few (good) friends.
