This 12 Year Old Single Malt from the Lagavulin is a superb Island whisky and probably one of the most reliable releases from the distillery. This 2017 release is a must for fans of the peaty, full-flavoured whiskies so closely associated with the island of Islay. It’s as robust as a highland bull and carries a classic smokey palette, a slight touch of sweetness, and a long smokey finish with plenty of depth.
Flavour Profile: Nose
There is a subtle mezcal-like nod to the nose. Displaying a playful cola like nature, there is a distinct southern BBQ style sweetness.
Flavour Profile: Palate
Cowboy campfire smoky embers and burnt cigar ends. There is a full weight of flavour, balanced with a sticky sweetness arc.
Flavour Profile: Finish
Long, dry and smoky, the finish is thick with ashy, earthy tones.
