One of the oldest and most celebrated distilleries in Scotland, Oban, first started exporting bottles through its famous West Highland doors back in 1794. This 14-Year-Old bottle has won Gold Awards in just about every competition it has entered and is made in the same age-old ways perfected over 200 years ago. With close proximity to the fishing town of Argyle, there are maritime notes of salt and seaweed, whilst the palate is as thick as the region’s accent.
Flavour Profile: Nose
Salty spray, freshly lit fires on the beach & driftwood. There is an expected & prevailing smokiness throughout & a tender touch of sweetness like candied fruit to inhale.
Flavour Profile: Palate
Viscous & full with flutters of citrus zest & a smooth velvety sweetness. Intertwined, smoke & seaweed dance together with rich toasted cereal & oak prevailing until the end.
Flavour Profile: Finish
Filled with dried fruits, old spices & oaky overtones, the finish is timely & mature.
